Hair transplant surgery is a surgery where we do permanent Restoration of the hairs. Here the complications when you talk about it is related to the donor site and the recipient site, first coming to the donor site if you are doing hair transplant by strip method where in you cut a strip of the tissue from occipital region so here there will be present of scar. If you are doing it by a follicular unit extraction method then won’t be any scar and there will be a numbness in the donor site for temporary period which may last up to 6 months to 1 years and coming to the recipient site the most common complication which we encounter is bleeding, suppose if the patient is hypertension, his hypertension has to be completely controlled before surgery. So bleeding is most commonest this is followed by swelling of the scalp region that is swelling in the forehead region, sometimes it may extend up to the eyes, around the eyes it may be black or it look like a bruised eye that is also temporary which may last for 5 to 10 days. Another thing the most commonest problem what you see is; it is a temporary loss of these transplanted hair that is where we have put the hair there will be a temporary loss which will the hair start growing again after a period of 2 to 3 months, so final result will get to see only after period of one year.
