Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition. It can be treated by medical management. First we have to understand what is the cause of alopecia areata. So we might need certain blood investigations. Sometimes we have to do biopsy also of the scalp to find out what exactly is the cause for it and once medical management is started 90% of the patients will get hair. In very rare case there is absolutely no hair growth. We can plan hair transplantation. Generally medical management is the solution for that.
